Boy's Bowling Advances to State!

The SE Polk bowling teams competed in district meets today in a quest for a State Tournament bid. The SE Polk Varsity boys took 1st place and moved onto the State Tournament by defeating Lincoln, Dowling Catholic and Iowa City West. Senior Justin Paterson led the Rams with a 275-225 total of 500, followed by senior Nick McDermott's 244-206=450, sophomore Payton Roberts' 224-216 = 440, senior Cameron Young's 187-245=432, junior Kyle Maschke's 222-183 = 405 and junior Alex Agan's 140-189 = 329. Senior Justin Paterson led all boy bowlers in 1st place and qualifying individually, senior Nick McDermott was 3rd overall and qualified individually, sophomore Payton Roberts was 4th overall, senior Cameron Young was 5th overall, senior Cameron Young was 8th overall and junior Alex Agan finished in 16th place out of 24 bowlers. The SE Polk Varsity girls took 2nd place falling to Lincoln and defeating Dowling Catholic and Iowa City West. Senior Taylor Fisher led the Rams with a 192-186 total of 378, followed by senior Cheyenne Thompson's 161-180=341, senior Alesha Wilson's 138-192 = 330, junior Laura Southward's 141-174=315, junior Nikki Morrill's 146-138 = 284 and junior Ashley Leadford's 125-121 = 246. Senior Taylor Lawson was 2nd place in all girl bowlers , senior Cheyenne Thompson was 4th overall, senior Alesha Wilson was 5th overall, junior Laura Southward was 9th overall, junior Nikki Morrill was 17th overall and junior Ashley Leadford finished in 21st place out of 24 bowlers.
