Baseball On To State Championship Game

The Rams fell behind early in the State Semifinal against Dubuque Hempstead giving up two runs to the #2 seed in the tournament.  SEP then turned the tide in the game holding Hempstead scoreless from that point on and the offense came alive sparking a 5-2 win to advance the Rams to the Championship match-up tomorrow night against Iowa City West.

SEP tallied 12 hits on the evening and scored at least one run per inning after the third.  Cody Hyler and Corey Gehling lead the Rams offensive charge with both players having 3 hits on the evening.  Zach Hamilton and TJ Fetters also added 2 hits apiece.

The Rams got another solid pitching performance from Garret Grove as the SEP starter went the distance in the game giving up 6 hits with 1 earned run and 4 strikeouts.

Saturday night's Championship game will be at 8:00 pm.
